Bec Broomhall Arts – Update

Bec Broomhall Arts – Update

My name is Bec Broomhall – I have been a member of the Shop in the Square designers since March 2015 and am thoroughly enjoying it! My art practice is very much focused on portraits and figures, creating pencil and painted portraits for any special occasion.  I have a love of sketching faces and people but can also draw many other subjects including animals.  Many of my prints and originals artworks and can be found on the shop walls.

In my life I have done many creative things – from Abstract artwork during my degree, to decorative crafts, to painted stones. But I have always loved drawing since I was very young, finding it extremely therapeutic – and capturing people fills me with joy. On a whim in 2013 after finishing my degree, I decided to do a work placement exchange programme in La Coruna, Spain. My friend and I worked at an art academy – Taller Matriz de Arte – run by a family of artists.  I came back so inspired and decided I was going to do what I’d always wanted to and work for myself.

In 2014 I then gained support from the SPEED Plus programme through the University of Wolverhampton to set up my business.  I now work from home in Oxley, Wolverhampton, and have work displayed at Shop In The Square, Black Sheep Studio and Art Gallery as well as taking part in many fairs and events in and around the West Midlands with my drawings and illustrations.  I really love what I do!

Most of my drawings are completed in mechanical pencil, 4B and 6B pencils on Daler Rowney Fine Grain Heavyweight paper or smooth Bristol Board paper.

Pencil Portraits:

A4 Pencil Drawing/Portrait = Starting @ £60.00

A3 Pencil Drawing/Portrait = From £95.00

My painting prices start at around £160 for a canvas approx. A3 size. Paintings are usually completed in oils or acrylics.

Turnaround Time:

Please allow up to 3 weeks for completion of drawings and 4-5 weeks for paintings (depending on scale, complexity and workload). A 25% deposit is required for all commissions. All commissions on paper will be presented safely in a tube or thick hard-backed envelope, however framing is also available.
